I have been engaged professionally and personally in various capacities with AAA since 2006 and the satisfying journey continues. I first got exposed to AAA as a volunteer and then as a student of social work at the University of Delhi and there has been no looking back. I remember the night visits with Dr. Sanjay and his dedicated team looking for the homeless on roads and providing them food and blankets in the severely cold winters of Delhi. Undoubtedly, in the last 15 years, AAA has created a niche for itself when it comes to the Homeless population, its rights, and empowerment. Its flagship programs of the postal box for the homeless, voter Id, Maha Panchayat, shelter homes for women and children are among the first of its kind. I am privileged and happy to write a testimony for AAA which has done commendable work with a vision of human rights and social justice for the most marginalized group of people- “The Homeless” who are invisible in the glare of fast-moving city life.
